The Luth-AR Modular Buttstock Assembly (MBA) for AR style rifles is designed to replace the standard buttstock on your AR. The MBA-1 Rifle Buttstock is designed to work with a standard A2 rifle style buffer tube and features Length-of-Pull adjustment and an adjustable cheek rise in a low-cost, lightweight, strong and high-quality design. The modular design of the MBA Buttstock allows you to configure your buttstock to your specific and personal needs.

The MBA-1 requires a A2 Rifle buffer tube. Please review the information provided in the Requirements tab.

The MBA features multiple attachment points for a sling, including molded pockets that will accept Grovtec QD cups, sold separately. A rail attachment is available. Available in Black or Flat Dark Earth or Flat Dark Earth with Black Cheek Rest, or Black with Flat Dark Earth Cheek Rest or with Freedom Flag cheek rest.

MBA-1 Rifle Buttstock

Shipping costs are based on your order total and will be calculated during checkout.

Any and all Free Shipping offers apply only to Standard shipping to the Continental US as determined by Luth-AR, LLC. Priority, Overnight, 2nd Day, 3 Day Select, Next Day Air, Express, Alaska and Hawaii shipping will be charged at normal rates applied to those options.

Free Shipping generally applies only to Retail customers unless a specific offer specifies otherwise.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT?

If an item is listed on our Website and can be Added To Cart it will typically be in stock. However, if you do not see a specific item, color, size, etc., please check back again later.

In-stock items will typically ship within 1-3 business days (M-F). If orders are larger than 50+ items we typically will ship the order within 1-2 week time period (M-F). We will do our best to ship orders complete within 1-3 business days, no guarantee. Please remember that the estimated shipping time begins once the order leaves our fulfillment facility.

Orders must be received by noon CST to allow for fulfillment by 3:00 pm CST M-F. Large orders may not ship same day. UPS typically picks up at 4:00 pm CST at the Luth-AR fulfillment location.

Weekends and Holidays do not count as fulfillment/shipping days.

All packages for continental U.S. addresses are shipped UPS or FedEx ground. Transit times will vary depending on location and you will be updated by UPS or FedEx on scheduled delivery. Orders going to Hawaii or Alaska are typically sent via Priority US Postal regardless of what shipping method is selected at checkout.

Shortly after an order is placed you will receive a confirmation email detailing specifics of the order. When an item(s) ships an order shipment email with tracking info will be sent.

Orders will be processed once successful payment is received. Payment processing may be delayed due to payment/shipping address discrepancies. We will do our best to clear each transaction as soon as possible. Our sales department may contact you to confirm your order if necessary.

WHAT ARE THE TAX RATES?

To cover sales tax, a fee of approximately 7.375% (subject to change) will be added to the total for orders with a billing address in MN.

Although we, as the seller, are not obligated to collect sales tax for states other than MN, a purchase from us is subject to your state’s sales/use tax unless it is specifically exempt from taxation. A purchase is not exempt merely because it is made over the Internet or by other remote means. Your state, if it imposes a sales/use tax, requires that you report and pay the tax due on your purchases. PROBLEMS WITH SHIPPING?

Luth-AR uses UPS as their primary shipping company to the lower 48 states and UPS/USPS for Hawaii and Alaska. Once our products leave our shipping facility we provide you with a tracking number and are no longer responsible for your package. If your package does not reach your destination, is stolen, or if applicable, is signed for by a different person, you must file a compliant with UPS or USPS directly. We will do everything we can to provide you all information regarding your shipment to help you resolve the situation.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY FOR NEW PRODUCTS?

If you choose to return your product, all refunds are subject to a 12% restocking feeand will be applied to the credit card used for the original purchase after you ship it back to our facility or, if the product was purchased elsewhere, store credit will be issued. This does not include shipping pricing, only for the product(s) being returned. You should allow one to two billing cycles for the refund to appear on your statement. Return and/or redelivery shipping costs are the customers’ responsibility.

If the item you received from us is not the item you ordered or it is damaged in some way, we will make every effort to replace it as soon as possible or we will gladly take back the item and credit you the merchandise price along with shipping and handling costs.

WHAT IF I HAVE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT?

Luth-AR is consistently recognized for its customer loyalty and we work hard to make sure that each purchase results in a customer for life!

Limited Warranty

Luth-AR, LLC manufactured products are warranted for 1 (one) year from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects in material and/or workmanship. All parts and labor or replacement, at our option, are covered. Government fees, damage caused by failure to perform normal maintenance, sales outside the United States, damage due to high velocity, high pressure, reloaded, or other non-standard ammunition, or any unauthorized repair, modification, misuse, abuse, or alteration of the product is not covered by this limited warranty. Consumable items such as gas rings, O’ rings, etc., are not warranted. Any product manufactured by a third party and sold by Luth-AR, will be covered under the third party warranty policy only.

Luth-AR, LLC complete assembled uppers will be warranted for a period of 1 (one) yearafter the complete upper was purchased. The warranty applies towards defects in materials or workmanship of the complete upper. Luth-AR will pay for all warranty repairs, at no charge to the consumer. Please supply a copy of the invoice for proof of purchase. The use of re-load ammunition, proof rounds, or factory ammunition that exceeds initial SAAMI specifications voids any warranty. Any repairs or modifications not done by Luth-AR also voids any warranty. Complete uppers not assembled or built by Luth-AR are not covered by the 1 (one) year warranty.

Alterations & Modifications Warning

Altering or modifying parts is dangerous and will void the warranty. This Luth-AR Upper/barrel  was manufactured to perform properly with the original parts as designed. It is your duty to make sure any parts you buy are made for this rifle and are installed correctly and that neither the originals nor the replacements are altered or changed. Your Luth-AR product is a complex precision tool with many parts that must relate correctly for proper and safe operation. Assembling a rifle improperly or with incorrect or modified parts can result in a damaged rifle, serious personal injury, or death to you and others through malfunction. Always have a qualified gunsmith work on your rifle, or verify proper assembly and function of any work not performed by a gunsmith.

Barrel Information Warning

To achieve the best results for accuracy you should clean the chamber and bore after every round for the first 25 rounds, then every 10 rounds up to 100 rounds. It usually takes about 200 rounds per barrel for optimum accuracy.

WHAT IF I HAVE DAMAGED MY PRODUCT?

Luth-AR is not responsible for replacing stocks that are damaged beyond normal wear and tear (such as constant butt slams when butt plate assembly is extended (spacers will help give more support with this), dropping from high levels, running product over with any machine/vehicle, customization, etc.).

If you feel the damaged caused was due to a defective product, we ask that you mail us back your product so we can review and determine the best solution going forward.

HOW DO I MAKE A RETURN?

To make a return, please take the following steps:

1) Before returning defective products please contact us first at info@luth-ar.com.

2) Ship the item back in the original packaging. If that is not possible, please wrap the item in bubble wrap or other quality padding and place in an appropriate box. The item must be securely wrapped inside the box during transport as we cannot be responsible for shipping damages, and please obtain tracking information in case the package is lost in transit.

3) Include a note containing your name, shipping address, phone number and email, and reason for the return (including information about the firearm, ammo, and usage environment for defective returns). Please include a copy of the receipt if possible as well.

***Packages must be returned prepaid- we do not accept COD packages.

Parts Schematic
The MBA-1 and MBA-2 Buttstocks require the use of an A2 Rifle buffer tube. Use the diagram below to determine if you currently have an A2 buffer tube. If you have a Carbine buffer tube you may want to look at the MBA-3, MBA-4 or MBA-5 buttstock. If you are ordering an MBA buttstock kit, the proper buffer tube is included.

All MBA Buttstocks are Sling Swivel Ready.

This means that the buttstocks have molded pockets that accept Grovtec Sling Swivel Cups for use with Quick Detach swivels. The Sling Swivels and cups are NOT included with the buttstocks and must be ordered separately. This is to keep the cost of the MBA buttstocks down. Not every customer needs sling swivels and including them would raise the price of the buttstocks. The sling swivels are available separately. See the videos below for installation instructions using the install kit, or using a 1/4″ Allen wrench.

    A very good product at a good price. I was a bit concerned that the locking mechanism on the rear of the stock might not be strong enough to hold up under recoil. I set the adjustment to it longest extension and placed a substantial amount of weight against it trying to see if it would slip. It held up perfectly. The stock has a lot of adjustment, is light, and strong at a price point most people can afford.

    Finally a better option than a PRS. The MBA is Extremely light, completely adjustable, more adjustment range than a PRS and a lot less cost. Simply the best stock for an AR I have ever used! Plus you got to admit, Its the coolest looking as well. LOVE IT! Two thumbs up! Awesome job LUTHAR

    I own TEAL BLUE BRAVO LLC. I was recently ask to build an AR 15 for a highly decorated army medic. The gun will be presented to him at a small gathering where he will be the guest of honor. I chose the MBA STOCK. These are the best stocks out there . If you want a well made stock that is fully adjustable. This is a get down to business stock.

    Love the weight and adjustability of the buttstock. The only thing is is lacking from the PRS is the setup for the rear pod, something that was rarely used anyhow. Would definitely use this over the PRS, especially at this price! Will be outfitting many other rifles with an MBA in the future.

    MBA VS PRS: Currently run 2 Magpul PRS. Thought id give this one a try. BOTH have their advantages and dis advantages.

    Price – the MBA comes out $75 less than the PRS
    Weight – the MBA is deffinately lighter than the PRS
    Strength – The mba isnt as “SOLID” as the PRS but it wasnt surprising due to the weight advantage
    Options – was surprised the MBA came ready for a QD sling mount, but it was not included.

    All in all by the time you buy the QD mount, your still saving $$ over the PRS, Weight is less than the PRS, but you give up a slight bit of strength with the MBA.

    Both have their places and i will continue to use each in their own setting !!

    I just received my very 1st order of LUTH-AR MBA’s and was impressed from the ease of ordering, prompt shipping, and the ease of installing using these simple instructions. More than all this, is the snug fit, the great feel, its solidness, and ease of adjustability that makes the fit perfect to my cheek weld.

    My customers will see the quality of these and it will be an easy switch away from what they are thinking they want to one of these less expensive and better built MBA stocks.

    I have also own several very personalized AR15s and AR10s and I will be trading these out in the near future for the much more Superior LUTH-AR MBA.

    Great product, offers something the others do not have, which is lateral adjustment of the cheek piece to get good eye relief for your scope and provide clearance from the charging handle and all the other stuff in that area. The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star rating is that I wished there were QD mounts available as an option. Good price, great product, and it is a weight saver; what more can you ask for.

    Great Deal. I’ve been wanting a buttstock with a cheek weld for some time now. I was eyeballing one from another vendor and it was just too much to spend. I’m glad I held out. The MBA is awesome. It looks great, fits to the lower receiver perfectly, adjusts easily, and is really comfortable. It is just what I needed.

    Fantastic. First owned a Magpul PRS for $255. Then I found the MBA and figured for a $120 less I would give it a whirl. Turns out its the better buy. Well made product easy to use, looks awesome, and functions flawlessly. I like the feel better than the PRS. It functions easier than the PRS. I found the PRS controls stiff. I also like how the MBA is not quite as bulky and heavy. Would buy again. I hope more products come out from Luth-AR id love to see and use them. I hope they come out with a rail system I would love to be one of the first to try it out.

    The MBA is the bomb! I have been looking at all the butt stocks available for a few months and none come close to the MBA. I got to shoot an AR-10 with one and that sold me. I’m 6’4″ with long arms and the adjustability is the best I have found. And the light weight is a plus as well. Get one, you won’t be sorry!

    A Great Stock at an Even Better Price. Finding a stock for a precision rifle build with adjustable LOP and comb can be challenging to say the least. Your only real, readily available option until now has been Magpul. But if you’re like me and building on a budget, LuthAR has probably really caught your eye. I ordered one not really expecting too much but was thoroughly impressed on its arrival.

    Construction is solid, adjustments are easy and secure. My one gripe is that the cheek piece is a little flexible and can give a little bit if you really tend to lay on the rifle. I don’t see this as a problem, just a fact because of the way it’s manufactured. Installed on my rifle the stock is both good looking and very comfortable in use. Overall I gave it 5 stars because the quality to price ratio is very high and it’s just an all around good stock. I would buy the stock again and recommend it to people looking for a high quality adjustable stock.

    I am so pleased with this stock…solid, inflexible, adjustable and very light weight…lighter than the M****l PRS stock and a much better return on investment! Can’t say enough about this product and how customizable it is. It might not improve your groups but it will make it much easier and more comfortable to attain your best without shelling-out an arm & a leg. Randy Luth has designed a winner!

    It is a solid product and delivers as advertised for precision. I was surprised at the weight. It was heavier than I thought it would be. I won’t return it because of that feature. The adjustments are solid and exact. Overall, I’m very happy with the craftsmanship and quality of the stock. To keep with the precision idea, I would like to see a spot to put a monopod

    Awesome buttstock! Great looking item, easy to install, great adjust-ability, and light weight! only complaint is the check riser. It will rise more but the plastic piece catches the top of the buffer tube mount. Not an issue and does not hurt the stock. Don’t get me wrong, this is a strong design and looking forward to running it through its paces!

    Echo of past review. This is a precision stock so it should have an attachment for a monopod. I use an accu-shot monopod so producing a stud mount would suffice to mount a stud-mount monopod. The best would be a rail built into the toe of the stock though…

    A nice light adjustable AR stock. Not overly complicated and easy to use and install. Nice and light. Seems plenty sturdy for the task at hand. Flush cups are easily installed giving the stock quick attack sling swivel hook-up. I like this product.

    Love it. When I saw this stock on the Armalite 3 gun AR I had to get one. I like the ability to custom fit this stock to my shooting style. I have not had an opportunity to run it through some real 3 gun stages yet. But I like the fit and finish of this product and am looking fwd to banging out some major matches with it.

    We bought an MBA-1 and an MBA-3 for my rifle and my son’s carbine. Delivery was incredibly fast. Both of these units are top quality, tough as nails, and the range of adjustment is excellent. Completely satisfied on all counts – and a much better price than that “other” brand. The coyotes are going to hate these rifles.
