The Palm Handguard™, free float tube features a triangular profile that conforms to the palm of your hand giving you a secure and comfortable grip on your AR. The sleek sides of the Palm Handguard™ provide distinctive smooth good looks with a Picatinny top rail for attaching scopes and accessories. The Palm Handguard™ is made from 6061-T6 Aluminum extrusion that is hard anodized black. The Palm Handguard™ includes a Palm Handguard™ barrel nut made from heat treated alloy steel with a manganese phosphate finish.

Luth-AR Palm Handguard™ Installation

  1. Insert the barrel into the upper receiver.
  2. Apply a light amount of moly grease to the threads of the upper receiver.
  3. Slide the Palm Handguard  barrel nut over the barrel until it contacts the upper receiver threads.
  4. Hand tighten the barrel nut until snug against the upper receiver.
  5. Using an open end wrench, tighten the barrel nut to the upper receiver to approximately 35 foot pounds of torque.
  6. Slide the Palm Handguard over the barrel nut. Ensure the Picatinny rail is aligned with the Picatinny rail on the upper receiver and fully seated.
  7. Tighten the 10/32 socket head cap screws on the bottom of the Palm Handguard with a 9/64″ Allen wrench. 
  8. Tighten the cap screws by alternately tightening each cap screw a small amount to distribute equal pressure until the Palm Handguard is completly and equally tight. The cap screws should be torqued to approximately 35-40 inch pounds.
